Description

The Mike’s Pea-pea is a peacock bass fly that was designed to anger peacock bass that are more worried about spawning than eating. It was designed to imitate a  juvenile peacock bass looking to start problems with its larger rivals. It will work very well when they are not spawning, but when you need to bring out the big guns, this is the gun. The hook choice is important for this fly. I went with the Umpqua Backcountry (X415 BN5X)  size 1 because this hook is a little heavier and it helps the fly sink a little better to get to a nest. I know. I know. A taboo for sure, but if you don’t fish both fish from the next, the other one will return.
